#HappyAlways

Hey everyone... Jess here today with a card/gift card holder that fits right in with the latest issue at Paper Issues: What the #@!$%&. Hashtags are huge right now and I thought it would be fun to hit my Christmas card with one... just for kicks and giggles.

I used Gossamer Blue's Get Happy line and, yep, it made me happy! I love the super cute blocky #Happy wood pieces combined with the scripty Always from Crate Paper.

And the coolest part of this card is the little envelope on the front that can hold a gift card. I love giving gift cards when I can make it more personal and special by wrapping it up with my own special touches. And, come on... a Target gift card makes anyone #HappyAlways.

You still have time to link up by December 21st for a chance to win three packs of flair from our sponsor, Feed Your Craft! We want to your stuff!

And while you're shopping this month don't forget to spoil yourself in the Paper Issues shop with 20% off everything using code "scrapgoo".

Wildflowers

The UmWowStudio chipboard flowers have been calling to me for a while now and this month I decided to do a couple of cards with these little beauties.  I busted out an old favorite: Crate Paper’s Restoration.  I still love this collection and the muted colors coordinated so well with the awesome kraft-iness of the naked chipboard.

I “welded” the bluebell and daisy on this first one.

And these are the cattails.  Sooo cool!

These nature focused cards are perfect for the newest theme at Paper Issues! Head on over to the blog to see some fabulous projects with Pretty Little Studios.  You can link up projects using PLS and/or anything with a nature theme.  And check out the gift certificate giveaway for this theme, too!

All that glitters is gold

I’ve been impatiently waiting to share this one with you guys for months now.  I think it is one of my favorite cards I’ve ever made and it’s packed with gilded goodness.  You can see this in the Summer 2013 issue of PaperHaus magazine.

Enjoy the Journey card

I used Pink Paislee’s Hope Chest and a whole ton o’ gold Luxe on here.  Those awesome chipboard hexagons you see? THOSE are the layered chip bits from UmWowStudio and you clearly need some.  I covered them is Heidi Swapp’s Gold Lame Color Shine and now they positively SPEAK to me… mmmm hmmm!

The coiled flower, canvas, and charm are from Prima, the muslin flower is Heidi Swapp, the pins are Maya Road, and the wood butterflies are the Recollections brand at Michael’s.

I never knew I could love metallics like this!

Masking with Mediums

Last week I shared a couple of cards on the Pink Paislee blog that made use of the She Art stencils.  I love these!  I want to use the doily ones on pretty much everything.

All week the team showed some fantastic ways to use the stencils but I focused on using a couple of different mediums: spray ink and gel medium. Check out Pink Paislee for more info and photos.

Just a Couple of Cards

Hey everyone! I’ve been pretty busy here these days.  We had a visit from the Mother in Law and a trip to Maine for my dad’s retirement, which means I am definitely behind on the blogging.

First up, a card for my best friend’s little guy who recently turned one:
Dream-Big-Octopus-Card

I used Fancy Pants Designs’ Down by the Shore collection… how cute is that octopus!?

And this is a simple Mothers Day card (May 12th… don’t forget!) made with Fancy Pants Designs’ Park Bench line.

Have you guys heard of UmWowStudio??  Lemme tell you, they have some amazing new chipboard on the market.  It’s thick and has perfect char marks and some of it’s layered, you guys.  Layered!

And that’s just a little peek!  Go see the rest!!

Wellll… naturally I jumped at the chance to get to use this stuff when I was asked to design for UmWowStudio.  I mean, really.  LOOK at the fun I am having:

I hope you all had lovely spring celebrations and are starting to feel the warmer weather too.  Today I’m ushering in new growth and sunshine with this card, which is featured in the latest issue of PaperHaus magazine.  If you haven’t given it a read you definitely need to crack it open!

Fancy Pants has teamed up with a favorite of mine… Operation Write Home.  OWH sends cards overseas to our men and women in uniform for them to send home to their loved ones.  I highly recommend checking out exactly what they do and contributing! Head on over to the Fancy Pants blog to see some inspiring cards, a blog hop, and giveaways!
